The Museum of the New South

March 7-8, 2013
Charlotte, North Carolina

On March 7th, Juana joined the Museum to celebrate Charlotte's "Woman of the Year" event entitled A Woman's Place. The event explores the evolving roles of women in the New South and celebrates their outstanding accomplishments.

Juana led a seminar with community members the next day entitled: De Colores: Leading in a Multicultural Community. The seminar recognizes the changing demographics in Charlotte and the growing Latino population that is creating a diverse and colorful community.

Hispanic Leadership Institute

Valle del Sol celebrated 25 years of providing leadership development programs for Latinos across Arizona. Juana designed and implements a one day retreat for participants. Team-building, collaborative leadership, Hispanic culture, and personal style are all part of this dynamic day.

Latina Style Business Series

Juana was the keynote speaker for the Latina Style Business Series. Attended by hundreds of Latina professionals, Juana's message was received enthusiastically: "Latinos will be the architects of a new America, one with diversity at its core. We are charged to educate our youth and to continue integrating immigrants into our country."

Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Convention

Utah Hispanics show their unity and celebrate their business success.

Three Hundred and fifty savvy Latino entrepreneurs gathered for the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Convention. The event celebrated the launch of Juana's book The Power of Latino Leadership. Wells Fargo bought 350 complimentary copies for participants making Utah the "hot bed" of Latino leadership.

Book Fiesta

From the Texas Capitol in Austin to MIO'S exquisite restaurant in DC to the El Paso Clubs 18th floor and the beautiful National Mexican Museum in Chicago - Latinos across the country are hosting book events for The Power of Latino Leadership. They are joining Juana to learn about the traditions of the Latino culture and the dynamic leadership that has advanced the Latino community.

Latinos in Texas are gaining political clout. Juana in from of the Texas capitol in Austin where a special book signing was sponsored by Las Comadres para las Americas.

Chicago is a multicultural city and one that reflects the great diversity of the Latino community. Juana was joined by Chicago Latino leaders at a book event that highlighted the great contributions Latinos have made in the past and will continue to make in the future.

Teach for America Latino Summit

July 23rd, 2013
Houston, Texas

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro motivated teachers at the Teach for America Latino Summit commending them for their dedication to advancing Latino students. Juana kicked off the day with an inspirational speech on Latino leadership in education.

CH2MHill - Enlace Hispanic Resource Group

Juana in Mexico City with Juan Manuel Huerta and Madeline Amodovar who co-chaired CH2MHill's Enlace Latino Summit. Juan and Madeline are exercising their leadership skills which were sharpened in graduates of the 2013 Latino Leadership Program offered by Mestiza Leadership.
